What is Design Arena?

Design Arena is the world's largest crowdsourced benchmark for AI-generated design, founded by Harvard alumni and backed by Y Combinator. Its mission is to quantify 'taste' and aesthetics by allowing users to generate content (such as UIs, images, and videos) using two anonymous AI models simultaneously. Users vote on which output is better, and these pairwise comparisons feed into the Bradley-Terry (Elo) rating system to create an objective, community-driven leaderboard of the best AI models for design tasks. The platform serves developers, designers, and researchers by identifying which models truly excel at creative execution beyond just code syntax.

How to use Design Arena?

To use Design Arena, navigate to the website and select a category (e.g., Mobile App, Image, or Website). Enter a text prompt describing the design you want to generate. The platform will trigger two anonymous AI models to generate results side-by-side. Review both outputs and vote for the one you prefer. This process reveals the identity of the models after voting and contributes to the global leaderboard stats. You can also view the 'Leaderboard' section to see which models currently hold the highest Elo ratings for specific tasks.
