Happy Engineering
What is Happy Engineering?
Happy Engineering (also known as Happy Coder) acts as a bridge between your mobile devices and your local terminal, enabling you to continue AI-assisted coding sessions away from your desk. The system consists of a CLI tool, a relay server, and a mobile application that work together to stream your Claude Code sessions securely. By using end-to-end encryption, it ensures that your code and conversations remain private, with no data accessible by the relay server. It is designed to be a non-intrusive companion tool, allowing you to monitor tasks, plan features, or debug while on the go. Unlike proprietary SaaS platforms, it keeps your development environment entirely under your own control on your own hardware.
How to use Happy Engineering?
To start using Happy, install the Happy CLI globally on your development machine using 'npm i -g happy'. Launch the app on your mobile device, scan the QR code displayed by the CLI to securely pair your devices, and then initiate your coding sessions using the 'happy' command. Once connected, any interactions you have with your AI coding agent from your phone will be synced in real-time with your terminal session, allowing you to seamlessly transition between mobile and desktop throughout your workday.
